Ontario hemlock database project

Since 2014 a Forest Managers Working Group on Hemlock Woolly Adelgid Preparedness has been meeting to prepare for the arrival of this invasive insect. One of our projects is to compile a database of hemlock for Ontario to facilitate early detection of the insect, management planning and research. This database is compiled from existing forest inventory data from a number of organizations, along with observations from practitioners and the public.
